FEDERAL GRANT FOR VOLUNTEER GROUPS

In August we applied to the Federal Government for a grant which they have available for volunteer groups who are in need of equipment or materials to assist them in their work.
We were successful and received $2828 with which we have purchased a projector, screen and laptop computer all for use in audio visual displays at the museum.
We had to specify what we were going to spend the money on if we were successful, and in accordance with the rules we have done so.
This equipment is in operation and we are continually improving our skills with this new medium.

                                                
SCHOOL AND TAFE VISITS

These last few months we have had quite a number of school classes and TAFE student visits. During October and November we had 80 visitors from one school over 3 weeks and we have two groups (morning and afternoon) of TAFE students come through every two weeks. The visits have proven to be so important to the TAFE teachers that they have made a visit to the museum part of their curriculum.
                                                
2008 CALENDAR

The committee is currently preparing a calendar which will be available in early December. This will be the first of a kind and we hope it will be eagerly sought after. Details of this will be on our web site. Extensive preparatory work has been spent in the production of this and we feel the result is worthy of its promotion.
